Enjoy a guided hike of approximately two kilometers through the valley, where you will discover rock-cut churches, secluded chapels, and ancient hermitages carved directly into the soft volcanic rock. Continue to Çavuşin Village, one of the oldest settlements in Cappadocia. The original village, built directly into the cliffs, was abandoned several decades ago due to the risk of rockfalls.
As you explore the ruins of Old Çavuşin, you will see stone houses, hidden churches, and the remnants of hermit dwellings, offering a glimpse into the area’s rich early Christian heritage. After your morning tour, enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch at a local restaurant.

Finally, visit one of Cappadocia’s most fascinating sites: the Underground City. These subterranean cities were carved into the soft volcanic rock by early Christians seeking refuge from invasions. Descend into the network of narrow tunnels and chambers, originally built across eight floors (with four open for visitors today).
See stables, storage rooms, kitchens, and living quarters that once sheltered up to 5,000 people during times of war and religious persecution. Some tunnels are still in use today for storage and cellars. After a full day of discovery, return to your hotel.
