The Ottoman Sultan Abdulmejid built the Dolmabahce Palace between 1843 and 1856 as a place for the Ottoman royal family to live. Armenian architects Garabet Balyan, Nigogayos Balyan, and Evans Kalfa made the plans for the palace. There are 285 rooms, 6 baths, and 46 halls in the Dolmabahce Palace.
Taksim Square and Istiklal Street: For most people who live in Istanbul, Taksim Square, and Istiklal Street are the hearts of the city. Cafes and restaurants line the pedestrian-only street. From Taksim Square to the Galata Tower, which is 1.44 km away, the street goes 0.87 miles.
The Spice Market (Egyptian Bazaar) was built between 1660 and 1665 by Turhan Hatice, the mother of Sultan Mehmed IV. The market is where most of Istanbul’s spices are bought and sold. You can also find sweets like Turkish Delights and Baklava there, as well as gifts. Every Monday, the Dolmabahce Palace is closed. Galata Tower will be replaced.
